"When I first came to Advanced Hypnosis Services my Irritable Bowel Syndrome was unmanageable. My daily activities and social life were being scheduled around my symptoms. I would become anxious if invited to dine with friends or family. I wuld carefully plan my meal so I wouldn't be forced to spend my evening in a restaurant bathroom. Often I would order a meal and just pick at my food rather than consume it. I attended parties where I avoided eating so I would not get hit with embarrassing symptoms such as cramps, diarrhea, and gas. The simple task of driving my children to school would sometimes result in us returning home with my sudden need to use the bathroom. Whenever i arrived at a public place I immediately would look to find the restroom. After failed success with a variety of known IBS medications, my doctor finally recommended I take a daily dose of Imodium. This was not the answer that I was looking for.

Hypnosis made a huge impact on my IBS symptoms. I learned relaxation techniques that I incorporated into my life. I listened to daily CDs with the use of headphones so as to give my undivided attention. I created positive affirmations about my life that I read daily. I learned to pre-program my social events by using visualization techniques.

Today I am living with my symptoms under control. My sue of Imodium has been entirely eliminated. When I feel the sudden need to turn my car around to rush home to the bathroom, I simply begin the deep breathing and visualization techniques that I have learned. I continue driving where it is that I was headed without IBS controlling my life. When I have plans for social dining I use my CD, visualization, and my pre-programing (social dress rehearsal) to reduce stress and to visualize a positive evening out. I have successfully attended intimate dinner parties and family gatherings without the need for Imodium.
